Software Application Support/.NET Programmer

At Woy Woy, New South Wales.

Position summary

This position reports to the Client Services Director, and has the following primary responsibilities in the short term -

  • Telephone, and sometimes on-site, support of LSI's clients in the use of our logistics software applications.
  • Analysing, debugging and diagnosing software application problems.
  • Minor software application modifications and deployment tasks

and in the long term -

  • Progressing to major software development projects.

Operational

The Software Application Support/.NET Programmer will -

  • Receive telephone calls from LSI clients reporting software application queries/problems.
  • Record the support call details in LSI’s internal support management system.
  • Analyse, debug and diagnose the support call using a variety of tools, including the existing support call knowledge base, the expertise of the LSI technical team, and the Visual Studio debugging facilities.
  • Deliver support call solutions to clients, by telephone, dial-up connections or on-site attendance.
  • Make minor modifications to LSI’s software applications, progressing to more complex software development projects.
  • Enhance LSI’s reputation of professional integrity with their clients, fostering long term relationships.
  • Make efficient and productive use of LSI’s working hours and resources.

Skills requirement

The skills required for this position are -

  • .NET Framework 2.0 or above (VB preferred).
  • An intermediate knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administrative features and Transact-SQL.
  • Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 2003/2008 Server.
  • Enthusiastic, cooperative, able to get along with management, fellow workers and clients at multiple levels.

Additional skills that are an advantage -

  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting and Analysis services.
  • Experience in web-based applications.
  • Experience developing on mobile devices.
  • Knowledge of COBOL syntax.
